The Caregiving Journey CIC provides support for those who are overwhelmed while trying to balance care for a relative and manage their own career and personal lives.

CIC, stands for a community interest company, are also known as social enterprise.

It is a special type of limited company which exists to benefit the community rather than privacy shareholders.

Thus this business puts the interests of people ahead of profits, with the aim of creating positive social change.

Being a caregiver is a long tough journey lasting many years. The pain can continue even after the death of your loved one.

Let’s work together to deal with horrible emotions and the unknown.

A big thank you to Amber Valley Borough Council for their generous award from UKSPF grants.

This has allowed launch of this unique service in Amber Valley area in Derbyshire.

The grant covers the start-up costs, web design and the delivery of free workshops.

The pot of money that is available for charities and community groups is getting smaller and everyone is struggling to find funding.

As you have witnessed there is lack of resources within the NHS and social services and therefore the voluntary sector is becoming more important.

Community groups including this one will become vital in helping us look after ourselves and become more resilient in these harsh times.

At workshops and group sessions there will be donation box available for you to pop in whatever you can to help maintain this essential service for our community.

Humans are social animals, needing companions, therefore we need to work and support each other.

There seems to be a societal belief that we must manage all by ourselves and ignore our true feelings and struggles.

With your support and generosity, The Caregiving Journey can become a lifeline for many caregivers who do not recognise their vital role.
